Release September 23rd, 2011: Moneyball (2011)

Moneyball (2011)

In Brief:
Billy Beane was once a would-be baseball superstar who, stung by the failure to live up to expectations on the field, turned his fiercely competitive nature to management. Heading into the 2002 season, Billy faces a dismal situation: his small-market Oakland A's have lost their star players (again) to big market clubs (and their enormous salaries) and is left to rebuild his team and compete with a third of their payroll. Driven to win, Billy takes on the system by challenging the fundamental tenants of the game. He looks outside of baseball, to the dismissed theories of Bill James, and hires Peter Brand, a brainy, number-crunching, Yale-educated economist. Together they take on conventional wisdom with a willingness to reexamine everything and armed with computer driven statistical analysis long ignored by the baseball establishment. They reach imagination-defying conclusions and go after players overlooked and dismissed by the rest of baseball for being too odd, too old, too injured or too much trouble, but who all have key skills that are universally undervalued. As Billy and Peter forge forward, their new methods and roster of misfits rile the old guard, the media, the fans, and their own field manager, who refuses to cooperate. Ultimately this experiment will lead not only to a change in the way the game is played, but to an outcome that would leave Billy with a new understanding that transcends the game and delivers him to a new place. On the other hand The story of Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane's successful attempt to put together a baseball club on a budget by employing computer-generated analysis to draft his players.

Synopsis
Based on a true story, Moneyball is a movie for anybody who has ever dreamed of taking on the system. Brad Pitt stars as Billy Beane, the general manager of the Oakland A's and the guy who assembles the team, who has an epiphany: all of baseball's conventional wisdom is wrong. Forced to reinvent his team on a tight budget, Beane will have to outsmart the richer clubs. The onetime jock teams with Ivy League grad Peter Brand (Jonah Hill) in an unlikely partnership, recruiting bargain players that the scouts call flawed, but all of whom have an ability to get on base, score runs, and win games. It's more than baseball, it's a revolution - one that challenges old school traditions and puts Beane in the crosshairs of those who say he's tearing out the heart and soul of the game.

Pumpkins are the world's largest fruit (botanically speaking, a fruit is any plant with the seeds on the inside), and they can get much bigger than the ones seen in Google's video. According to Guinness World's Records, the heaviest pumpkin ever, grown in 2010 by Chris Stevens of New Richmond, Wis., tipped the scales at 1,810.5 pounds.Cinderella stories aside, titanic pumpkins are a relatively new phenomenon. In 1991, the world record holder was a mere 493.5 pounds. Ten years later, growers passed the thousand-pound milestone, and they've just kept getting bigger ever since.

Titulo original: Storm Warning (Australia)

Resorts World Casino NYC- We came, we saw, and we never conquered....yet.

So welcome to "ResortsWorld Casino" in Ozone Park, Queens is more like it. An insigna from the Genting Group invites you to come down and check it out. So thats what mother and I did.

It was quite an adventure in that icy snow mini storm, finding your way around the new Resort and old Aqueduct stomping grounds. Parking was funny. Luckily we got very close and ran in!

Welcomed inside, we arrived on the Saturday, day after it opened. Up the escalator, colorful lighting from the machines and a massive tv that could put the Grand Central Terminal train listings to shame.

2 hours later we are still in there. Playing many different games, different denominators. Almost Every machine I went on, I got a bonus game and bonus spins kicking. I wish the fishes were biting!

Sex and The City Machines were all full and taken. Cougarlicious, a bag copy, was unentertaining!

I loved the atmosphere overall and most of the games. Wish they had Eagle Rock though. But I digress.

Only the first floor was open. Due to continued construction, the 2nd floor phase will be open to the public in December. Im excited!

Later, on a roll from these...

We decided to get food. The food court is not generic by anymeans. Every booth had a specific food series and then I saw the mother of all. An Authentic Wolfgang Booth To Go. they had gourmet Chicken Fingers with Fries (Sweet Potato I chose mind you).

I even took it to go. At the machine.

We are all trying to win on Power Strike.

My face when leaving the food court, obviously I was very comfortable in my seat.
I went donning my yellow Pink for the Cure Long Island Lacrosse Series tee, My Disney Tower of Terror Heather Grey Zip up sweater and my H&M Militia Jacket in Navy.

Overall, I see myself coming here alot rather than up in Mount Vernon and Yonkers, for Empire City Raceway.

mindfully tough with some leather & patterns

So I was in Target recently, in search of workout gear (no surprise) I had my blue sweat-tech hoodie and wicking capri pants ready then I made it over to the casual wear and outerwear section. I nearly died. The workout stuff long disregarded, I immediately went to the fitting room with these three pieces. The leather moto, the pattern overhead sleeve sweater, well 2 of them.

God its a good price of $40 bucks. So much I could wear it with.

TOUGH. Outsiders should be careful of me. Haha, or better yet I want to join Darry and Ponyboy.

I love the quilted shoulder detail. That is my absolute deciding factor. Moto quilting.

With my sweater....

The sweater with the patterns. Omg. It so smooth when to try it on and very weightless.

Here is a pic from earlier in the week, after my space fall clean up. I found my Calvin Klein Leather Cuff!
Necklace is an old Chanel find. Mother's own but she does not know! Haha.

And thats all for now, til something else shiny or detailed will catch me attention (Irish accent).

Days with the kiddie!

So recently, I have been delving into more and more school work and at the same time, seeing my small second-cousin with her little play things.

Such nostalgia about Elmo, and Playdoh. So I decided to join in the childhood dream fun. Such innocence and yet sass.

A snake!

From overview, it looks like an adidas sneaker being in quicksand. *Such imagination* *snaps fingers*

Elmo! He can talk, wiggle, and such with one little touch to him!

Also I made a pretzel out of playdoh.

Memories. Never forget but dont digress too much or you will never be able to move forward.'

Ciao,

Mirror on the Wall, What I do I love most of all?

So far, no wallet. But I have filed reports so lets hope it comes back to me. [urgh!]

Have Midterms for some of my classes coming up. Its so busy and Handbag Designer Meetups are upcoming as well as Comedy Improv meetings.

Yes, I like to be well rounded.

Anyways, back to lighten the mood, here some things I am so loving and they make me happy and excited just thinking about them recently.

So...currently nowadays what I am loving are:

Issey Miyake. The Avantgarde clothing and especially the perfumes. Especially this one:

The Issey Miyakie Eau D'ete Summer Edition 2009.
The smell of freshness of flowers and fruits. The smell of peonies, summers in France, and the market place down by the Terminal. Ahh~ I keep this baby in my bag at all times. When I dont have my The OC Perfume, Donna Karen Cashmere Mist or Bvlgari Rose Essentielle, I have my Issey Miyake Summer 2009 Edition.

Another thing I am loving is:

These Collabs. The Runway Relief Boots at Nine West & Christian Cota x Aldo Barbarito Boots.

Love this Barbarito style. Just my style and goes with anything.

The Runway Relief Boots. I can put money in that pocket and not be pick pocketed again!~
Both are quite high in price but with a little saving I can do it. Not right now due to my wallet being stolen but that's okay. Time to do couch digging for pennies and nickels. *Gurl...*

Also these Coach Cassy Lace up Wedge Booties. I tried them on in Marshalls. The perfect height good color. I have them on hold so I am picking them up by the end of this week.
This is the exact color nice right! Only 100$. Can you believe that deal?

And of course, I am loving Andy, Bravo Andy, Tramona, and the family over at Bravo Tv. They are so funny tweet wise and every time Watch what happens live comes on, the world stops. I have gotten so many replies and a compliment from Tramona the Bravo Turtle Time Turtle. She looks good this week in that pumpkin gig, WERK GURL.

Well, im off again to Jet Set into school and responsibilities.
Ciao lovies!
