MOVIE SUMMARY:

A portrait of Patty Schemel, the openly gay drummer for Courtney Love's band Hole during its peak years. As a young girl from rural Seattle, Patty always knew she was different from the other kids. She never could have imagined that one day she would be a member of one of the hottest rock music groups of the Nineties, and then lose it all, having embraced the dark side like her friend Kurt Cobain. While focused on Patty, we get a peak at the personal tragedies that plagued the band in its heyday as well as a behind-the-scenes look at hardball music-industry politics. In another angle we can say, HIT SO HARD follows the journey of Patty Schemel, the openly gay drummer of Courtney Love's seminal rock band 'Hole.' As a young girl who always knew she was 'different' from the other kids in her farm town home outside of Seattle, Patty never dreamed she would one day have her picture on the cover of 'Rolling Stone.' But she also never fathomed that she could lose it all. A true survivor of what we now know was the disaffected 'slacker' generation, Patty found herself, like her friend Kurt Cobain, embraced by the dark side.

Hit So Hard is a 2011 American documentary film directed by P. David Ebersole, which premiered at SXSW and New Directors/New Films. The film focuses on the life and near death story of Patty Schemel, most notable as the drummer of Courtney Love's seminal rock band 'Hole' during its peak years. The film weaves together Schemel’s Hi8 videos filmed during her tenure with the band with contemporary interviews with her, her bandmates and other musicians. The film's score is written by Roddy Bottum of Faith No More. It was produced by Todd Hughes and Christina Soletti and will be released theatrically in 2012 by Well Go USA via Variance Films

MOVIE SUMMARY:

TONIGHT YOU'RE MINE is a free-wheeling rock 'n' roll love story set against the raucous magnificence and unforgettable sounds at a leading music festival - The 2010 T in the Park festival in Kinross-shire, Scotland. Adam (Treadaway) and Morello (Tena) have a big problem. It's not that Adam is the heartthrob lead singer in a famous electropop band or that his girlfriend is a spoiled supermodel. His problem is Morello's problem. Morello's problem isn't that she's lead singer in a struggling post-punk riot girl band or that she's dating a banker. No, her problem is that she has to perform the biggest gig of her life at a music festival while handcuffed to the kind of person she totally despises - Adam. So begins an out-there odd-ball romantic comedy filled with lust, mud, betrayal, booze, portaloos and a hundred thousand people partying to the greatest music in the world. None of whom seems to have the key - not to the meaning of life - but to the handcuffs. Set in the world of Russian immigrants living in New York City. Under the watch of his loving, but overbearing father, virtuoso violinist and Juilliard student Sasha prepares for a critical recital meant to launch his career. Yet, he is increasingly drawn to the rhythms of the streets of New York, and when he meets singer-songwriter Ramona, he joins her band, falls in love, and begins to lead a double life, careening frantically between two worlds. As his classical debut nears, Sasha must decide whether to break with his father and forge his own destiny. Police officer Amadeus Warnebring was born into a musical family with a long history of famous musicians and he hates music. Now, Warnebring is about to face the most difficult case of his career. A group of six eccentric drummers, led by revolutionary genius Sanna, has decided to launch a full-scale musical attack using the city as their instrument. Their musical terrorism leads to chaos and disorder. As Warnebring hunts for these serial musicians, he discovers the woman he is in love with is the leader of the group. Warnebring is left with no choice but to enter the world he has spent his entire life fleeing--the world of rhythm and music. In another angle we can say, The narrative revolves around police officer Amadeus Warnebring, tone-deaf scion of a distinguished musical family, and his attempts to track down a group of six guerilla percussionists whose anarchic public performances are terrorizing the city. The drumming set pieces correspond to an avant-garde score with four hilariously titled movements. Where the short involved the six drummers imaginatively using standard apartment furnishings as their instruments, the feature unleashes them on an unspecified city's civic and cultural institutions. Including an amusing backstory for each of the soberly dressed drummers as well as their nemesis, music-hating investigator Warnebring, the film creates a treat for the eyes and ears from the dull, repetitive sounds of everyday life.
