Dark Horse Spiderman x New York Comic Con

DARK HORSE UNVEILS THE 2011

NEW YORK COMIC CON EXCLUSIVE

MARVEL SPIDER-MAN SYROCO!

SEPTEMBER 28, MILWAUKIE, OR—As part of the Marvel Syrocos program that debuted at San Diego Comic-Con International in July, it is announced today that Dark Horse will be releasing another exclusive Spider-Man statue for New York Comic Con!

New York Comic Con attendees will have a very significant opportunity to acquire a special statue released just for the show. Much like the previously released and long-sold-out SDCC exclusive, a very limited number of this statuette is being offered. It is packaged in the same litho-printed tin box that is the hallmark of the Dark Horse Syrocos, and is destined to be a bona fide hot item, both at the show and far beyond the exhibit hall. It will be sold at the normal retail price of $49.99, with a limit of four per customer.

“We wanted to evoke New York with our very special exclusive Spider-Man,” said Dark Horse’s VP of Product Development, David Scroggy. “Unfortunately, space constraints made a rooftop water tower or fire escape impossible, but we still hope fans can sense the city in this piece.”

The Marvel Syrocos program kicked off earlier this month with two alternating series: Classic Marvel Characters and the Fantastic Four. This new line will be deliberately different than the common modern Marvel collectible sculpture, with features like a rougher surface texture, visible seam lines, and other slightly distressed aspects, such as the method of paint application.

These special New York Comic Con exclusives will be available at four p.m. on Thursday, October 13. Don’t miss your chance to own one of these fantastic statues!

Pantheon Books at NYCC!

I for one cant wait for Comic Con, its going to be HUGEEE! October. Another couple of weeks, I can count on one hand, its here people.

Get your passes ready!

I have just received word that Pantheon Books will there!

Pantheon Books will be at this year’s New York ComicCon (October 14-16, plus preview night on October 13), and we would love to see you there. Our booth is #1041.

AUTHORS:

We have two authors joining us at our NYCC booth this year: Dash Shaw/BODYWORLD (Pantheon) and Colson Whitehead/ZONE ONE (Doubleday, going onsale 10/18).

BOOKS:

WORD bookstore will be at our booth selling a healthy selection of Pantheon graphic novel favorites, including two of our biggest new releases by incredibly talented artists: Craig Thompson’s HABIBI (Pantheon, 9/7) and Art Spiegelman’s METAMAUS: Inside a Modern Classic, Maus (Pantheon, 10/4). These are destined to be Pantheon Books classics, so be sure to ask us about them at the booth. Buttons inspired by each title will be on hand for giveaway, as well, in addition to gorgeous posters (attached) specially designed by Craig Thompson for ComicCon. Also available for sale at the convention will be Glen Duncan’s THE LAST WEREWOLF (Knopf), a hit new novel that was all the rage in San Diego this past summer.

GIVEAWAYS & OTHER PERKS:

Of all the possible giveaways at ComicCon, I bet you’ve never received a pair of women’s panties. Nearly a year before its onsale date, UNTERZAKHN by Leela Corman (Schocken, going onsale 3/20/12) was already the hit of San Diego ComicCon in July, where we were giving out panties with the word “unterzakhn” (Yiddish for “beneath the surface,” aka “underwear”) on them. Robot6 and other blogs covered the unique giveaway item (see attached for pics from SDCC), and the panties will be handed out (in a limited quantity) throughout NYCC. Corman, who moonlights as a professional belly dancer, has illustrated books on subjects ranging from urban gardening to the history of the skirt, and her work has also appeared in the New York Times and on WNET/Thirteen. For more on Corman and the new book, go to http://leelacorman.com/.

Mystery freebies! Author of 31 books, Anne Rice’s latest THE WOLF GIFT (Knopf, out next year) will make an appearance in some sort of a giveaway item during the convention. www.annerice.com. Also having a presence at the booth is Ben Marcus’ THE FLAME ALPHABET (Knopf, 1/17/12), and the giveaway will be as unique as his startling new novel. http://benmarcus.com

Pose with Lisbeth! The spectacularly successful Stieg Larsson/THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO (Alfred A. Knopf) trilogy is coming to NYCC. This year at the Pantheon booth, you can pose next to a poster of Lisbeth Salander—the heart of Larsson’s novels.

Finally, NYCC is your exclusive chance to get a sneak peak at what Chris Ware has been working on (his next book with Pantheon, fall 2012). Stop by the booth to get your first glimpse.

Fashion's Night Out : FNO NYC

So, it was the best of times and it was the best of times, a little bit bad but what could one have done, its FNO. Nobody was home I bet. Except some that dont care but yeah I was not home.

I went only to Bendels and Bloomingdales during the beginning hour at 6pm. Unfortunately, I was not feeling very well and very tired, so I retired early on the evening at 7:30 at A La Crepe in Brooklyn then went home.

But here are some pictures. That night was so huge and the sales ladies at Bendels were extra pushy.

Dont they know that a fashion obssessed Beeh has to sample first and linger around and be comfortable first. Talk about diving in head first!

So im going in feet first.
Shoes: Limited Edition Converses, Socks: American Apparel Warmies in Purple
Denim: American Eagle Straight 77

So here at Bendels, a new brand I never heard off. The cleanser is paraben-free as I was told and has all of these different pieces to it. The Cleanser has no soap yet you can wash or wipe it off. The skin feels supply soft. I heard *pst *pst* An editor from Daily News uses this.

Another brand, Luxtural. As used by UK entertainment figures and Angelina Jolie at red carpet functions and other events.

3 set, it makes the skin feel good too. All natural. I have tried the facial mist, get rid of impurities and a tired looking face. Oh boy. (but I use SKYN ICELAND, thats what im getting already)

The press release of Jolie's usage.

And Youngbloog cosmetics. Minerals, Minerals, Minerals. I love this line it looks very natural on the skin and is not metallic of any sort to break or harm the skin. The color schemes are very smart.
Onwards to Bloomies, A look down Lexington Ave.

Got into Bloomies, it was ridiculously full within the first hour, I went over to the Milly x Clinique section, it was a bust. Total confusion for me so I left.
I went over to Jo Malone!
I had a great time looking at their products of Body Oils, Perfumes, Candles and Cremes. Got a lovely Fragrance Consultation and a lovely sales reps number that I can contact her. Which I will.
And of course, the cute waiter holding out a tray of Jo Malone Chocolate Bunny. I got one :)

The ad campaign photo thats out now.

Then onwards to Brooklyn, where I retired.
Eating Crepes, Banana and Nutella.

A very lax space. Just my speed.

Excited right?
Yes.

P.S. - I MISSED Amare Stoudemire AND Rachel Roy AT MACYS :( *Kills*

Up up Up! and away!

Well...Thanks for being for patient folks. I had to leave my harry potter legacy posting up for a couple of days. It deserved to be recognized as it is part of our years long decade and such an amazing franchise that will live forever. Thank you Directors, Actors, Actresses and film crews and the guy that delivers coffee and such... *Accio Wand*!

Now I am planning on see this new installment! HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2......sometime this week in the midday. :) I got the dvd for part 1 and watched it immmediately. Talk about desperation.

Well anyway, I had such a wonderful time hanging out at the Deer Park Tanger Outlets (Officially its "Tanger Outlets at The Arches" *coughs upper crusts cough cough*) here in NY. It truly was lovely weather and great deals on items truly. I came very close to buying a Kate Spade Black Zebra Decor Bag but obviously me mum says otherwise ("Thats an old woman bag, dear")

oioioioi. -_- my face lol

Everyone was at the Regal Cinemas there, having food, and just taking strolls. With the occasional buying. I was laughing at people (called having fun in my book). I did not take photos because I was too busy having fun and laughing. :D

But they do name the roads and different paths in Italian, which is a bonus in my book. The atmosphere is so relaxed. Outdoors, not in enclosed spaces like malls but great! It has a west coast feel to it.

Anyways, the breeze was blowing, actually bought goodies from American Eagle (haven't in months and months), Calvin Klein (months and months), Last Call Neiman Marcus (you get the idea), Off Saks 5th (you get it?), and BCBG MAxAzria (you get the picture?) Well anyway. I did not take photos of them yet, rather in the next week or so, I will be wearing them, so you can enjoy them on the model (yes me! woohooo!)

But I can tell what I have gotten. (Pics to come later, stay tuned....)

-Adrienne Vitadini White Crop Sweater with some sparkle detail on the chest area (not like any other)
- 2 American Eagle Army Relaxed Cargo Pants (they are seriously sick and can go with anything to give a cool flair)
- Collared clean cut navy blue & white striped tee from BCBG MaxAzria (first time I bought anything in there ever at 42 bucks, this top was a steal)
-American Eagle Beach tee (not the logo but actually city and beach photos on it, its really cool. I dont like to buy the logo *avoids rant*) ^_^
- Black Relaxed Boyfriend Long Cardigan by Calvin Klein
- Navy Blue Miami style casual top by Calvin Klein

As you could tell there is like no actual names for the items but I thought I could pass em by with such good conviction and not to mention FLAIR!

And of course to end of with a night view of Tanger Deer Park (this is a fall season one, the summer one I didnt take yet).

And of course, to come home later on to read more fan-fictions but before I got home, got a lovely drive on the parkway of course Sunday traffic back to new york to hit but its all good.

When I get home, the fan-fictions come but then Terry World and Selby Place Book I browse til I feel sleepy.
But for all of you who are bored, go over to Terry World. Terry Richardson Daily Diary. He has photos of Mila Kunis and Lindsay Wixson that dropped by his studio to take photos and fool around with god knows what! But If I ever had that privilege, that would be wicked. My favorite photos are ones where everyone is Terry (they assimilate with his signature large frame black clear glasses).

Well music of the day has to be.... from Canadian Soul Group Jacksoul....
Jacksoul - Still Believe in Love (from 2004) Classic song and a little old but timeless. *RIP Haydain (the lead singer of Jacksoul)*

Review: Cupcakes by Melissa {Baked by Melissa} (SOHO)

I first time I tried her mini cupcakes was during an evening out shopping in Chinatown and Soho. I decided to stop by a try one. I realized that one is so mini that you had to buy them in packages of either 3 or 4 then 10, 25, 50, 75, 100. You get a cute little package with it and each of them poked into little spaces.

So adorable!

Its so delicious and mini-sized, and healthy!

You have many flavors to choose from:

= Mint Chocolate Chip
= Tie-Dye
= Cookies & Cream
= Cookie Dough
= Peanut Butter Cup
= Cinnamon
= Peanut Butter & Jelly
= Red Velvet
= S'mores

A great little booth on one of the streets off Broadway, I forget which one but check it out more information at the website: www.bakedbymelissa.com
